Seems like summer is getting close... Last 3 days have been 60+ and yesterday hit 72...

May1st (Sunday)

Hunt #27: I hit a closed High School that I had driven by the previous day...

There wasn't a lot of shallow typical trash of pulltabs or can slaw,,, but there was a lot of deep iron...

So I switched to two tone ferrous... and this was the first target I recovered...

1936 Buffalo Nickel (Buffalo # 3 for 2011)

Wheat Backed pennies were popping out, but I could not land a silver,,,

I stopped at a school closer to home that has always done me well and I nabbed this...

This target was a smooth 12/31 @ 4-5"...

Police Button circa 1910...

This was bouncing up to 12/42 and 12/46 @ 11-12"...

This button is heavy compaired to a 2 piece brass button...

Its a B&B Extra button that would date is to 1830s - 1840s

Last keeper was a spotty signal at 12"...
This sucker was pristine when dropped... but 175 years started to consume her....

May 15th (Sunday)

Hunt #32: Its was a long hunt yesterday at the old foundation and I did not think I was going to get out... 3pm... I was thinking about going out... 4pm... hmmm... still a few hours of light left....

OK... 4:15 head out to a spot that has yielded some older goodies (1800s)... I arrive 15-20 minutes later to find this site teaming with activity... I realy did not want to go back to a park as I wanted some older targets...

I headed to a park that I score Indians at pretty well... but felt like I've worked it pretty well... but hoped that I perhaps missed one...

I hunted for 90 minutes...

I was going nice and slow digging all targets over 4"... 3 minutes in yielded the musket ball in the above picture...

5-7 minutes in and I have a 12/32 12/33 signal @ 8" under a tree... I was pretty sure this was an IH...

10 minutes later... and only 4" down...

Next up was a 12/42 12/43 signal... 5" range... I was thinking wheatie but hoping for a thin dime...

I was thrilled to see a seated dime in great shape, then I flipped it over.
LOVE TOKEN !!!
