Hunt #82/83/84: I had 3 days before I was heading out on the road for 4+ weeks for work... Wichita, Houston, San Antonio, Tulsa, Salt Lake City, and Mesquite TX...
I needed 5 silver to hit 100 for 2010 and was determined to recover the 5 before football kick off @ 1pm on Sunday...
Friday night after work I headed to a site in RI that has yielded me some goodies over the last month...
1946 Roosevelt Silver Dime (Silver Coin # 96 for 2010 and # 2 for October 2010)
I headed on on Saturday AM with 4 places on map to try...
My 1st Stop was at a place I'd done pretty well out in the past...
I did well with some old relics... and a few wheaties there...
My 2nd stop yielded.... zippo! A few clad coins...
As I was heading to my 3rd stop I drove by this spot and pulled in...
I did not know what to expect but figured I've give thius spot 30 minutes...
My 1st few coins were wheat backed pennies and there did not seem to be much trash...
20 minutes in... 1892 Barber Silver Quarter (Silver Coin # 97 for 2010 and # 3 for October 2010)
10 Minutes Later... 1941 Mercury Silver Dime (Silver Coin # 98 for 2010 and # 4 for October 2010)
I got these 2 silver coins, 13 wheat backed pennies, and some clad...
There was 5+ Acres so I knew I'd have to come back!
Sunday AM is here and I want to get out nab the 2 silver I need for 100 and be home for Football Kickoff @ 1pm!
I was 90 minutes into the hunt and had 5 wheat pennies... but no silver... I had another 90 miuntes tops...
I changed spots and hit a line along the back of the field... I started to grid... back and forth...
On the 3rd Pass... 1943 Mercury Silver Dime (Silver Coin # 99 for 2010 and # 5 for October 2010)
10 Minutes Later.... 1954 S Roosevelt Silver Dime (Silver Coin # 100 for 2010 and # 6 for October 2010)
SILVER COIN # 100 !!!!!
